The EMBO | FEBS course on "Host-Microbes Interactions" is a highly successful international summer course gathering 80 students and 16 lecturers taking place in the Spetses Island (Greece) in 30 August to 7 September 2013.
It will cover topics ranging from microbial diversity, bacterial assemblies, metagenomics and RNA-mediated regulation, to cellular microbiology and innate immunity. It will include an EMBO Plenary Lecture on 'Pathogens and commensals at Mucosal Surfaces: from homeostasis to disease', a EMBO YIP Lecture on 'Specificity in the ubiquitin system: learning from bacterial effectors' as well as an EMBO Science Policy Lecture on 'Pathogens, vaccines and society'.
The course is open to Ph.D. students and young post-doctoral fellows.
The deadline for application is March 29th 2013.
