In Memoriam: Prof Li-chong Chan
It is with great sadness that we announce that Professor Li-chong Chan passed away on Sunday, November 8th, 2015.
Professor Chan served on the Board of Directors of HKU-Pasteur between 2007 and 2013 and was a strong supporter of this collaborative program.
Professor Chan joined HKU in 1989 and led the Department of Pathology as Head between 2002 to 2011.
He was a humanist, a man of great culture and was the driving force in establishing the Center of Humanities and Medicine at HKU. LC, as he was known to friends and colleagues was Director of the Faculty's Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit.
Professor Chan had made significant contributions to the field of pathology, medical education and the whole of the medical community in Hong Kong at large. He will be sorely missed and warmly remembered by all those who knew him.
