The Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) has teamed up with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to develop scientific talent around the world.
Tineke Cantaert, a researcher working at the Institut Pasteur in Cambodia is among the 41 international young researchers laureates of a scholarship awarded by a group of philanthropies. She seeks to understand how the immune system responds to infection by flaviviruses such as Dengue and Zika.
