Institut Pasteur International Network (through the SISEA Project), in collaboration with Regional Emerging Diseases Intervention Center (Singapore) and Institut de la Francophonie pour la Médecine Tropicale (Lao PDR), and the support from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response of the U.S. Department of Human Health Services organized a short training course that focuses on basic data entry and analysis utilizing the EpiData package in Vientiane (Lao PDR), January 18-21, 2011. A total of 24 participants from 5 regional countries attended this course including Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia, China and Singapore.
A final evaluation that was conducted at the end of the course suggests that essentially all participants felt comfortable in designing a survey form and entering data with EpiData, which in turn suggests a high uptake of the main pedagogical goals of the training course.
