Dr Hein Min Tun, principal investigator at HKU-Pasteur, is looking to hire a new Post-doctoral Fellow in Antimicrobial Resistance and a Research Assistant in his lab:

Post-doctoral Fellow in Antimicrobial Resistance in the School of Public Health

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biology, microbiology or related disciplines. They should have research experience in bacteriology and antimicrobial resistance. Experience in molecular biology and microbiome research will be highly advantageous. The appointee will work on a new long-term, multi-phased, international epidemiological and laboratory research programme on the etiologies of antimicrobial resistance. He/She will assist in managing a bacteriological research laboratory, run experiments, collect clinical specimens, analyse data, write academic papers and grant proposals, and perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Research Assistant II in the School of Public Health

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above in science, biology, medical sciences, or related disciplines, with experience in microbiology and molecular biology. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese) and the ability to work discretely when handling confidential data. They should be a good team player with passion and self-initiative in research. Experience in sample collection, bacterial isolation and identification, bacterial culture and basic molecular biology techniques would be highly desirable.

The appointee will assist in the daily operation of a research team with a focus on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). He/She will assist in running experiments in the laboratory, develop protocols, manage budget and procurement, collect and analyse data, and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
