Meeting on SISEA Project at Setthathirath Hospital (March 18, 2011)

The SISEA team in Lao PDR met at Setthathirat Hospital, one of the sentinel sites of Acute Lower Respiratory Infection surveillance, to discuss the results of the review of the clinical cases performed in collaboration with Dr Anne Mornand, a pulmonologist from University Hospital of Geneva (HUG), Switzerland.

There were important lessons learnt from surveillance implemented through SISEA. Major recommendations for future studies included the need to provide a simple Case Report Form with highlighted priorities and the preparation of more detailed Standard Operating Procedures and mission for all the actors involved in the study (physicians, nurses, radiologists and laboratory team).
