Positions Open in Institut Pasteur Shanghai - CAS

Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPS, CAS) is a legally independent, non-profit life sciences institute that address public health issues in China and the Asian region. The mission of IPS, CAS is to conduct basic research in infectious diseases with an unmet medical need as well as to engage in early stage development of novel diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines. Our scientists are engaged in a broad range of infectious disease research programs ranging from viral hepatitis, HIV, respiratory infections to virus-induced cancers. The institute offers a large panel of core facilities and excellent working conditions in a highly collaborative environment within the Chinese Academy of Sciences network and the worldwide network of Pasteur Institutes. To expand our current programs, we are now seeking outstanding scientists in the fields of Immunology, Virology and Vaccinology for the following positions.


Position 1: Vaccine Center Head IPS, CAS is developing vaccines for Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, Hepatitis B and C and HIV. The candidate should hold a MD and/or PhD degree with an excellent scientific track record, strategic view for vaccine development and working experience in viral vaccine innovation and vaccine development process. Experience with NGO or pharmaceutical industry in preclinical, clinical, manufacturing and regulatory aspects of vaccine development in the PR China and previous involvement in vaccine clinical trial design and execution will be preferable.


Position 2: Principal Investigators (Chinese and foreign nationals eligible to national 1000-talent program) Candidates should be professors or in equivalent positions in well-known international universities or research institutes, and with world-class research capabilities as demonstrated by a track record of publications and research funding in the fields of immunology, microbiology, virology, viral pathogenesis, anti-viral vaccine and drug discovery.


Position 3: Principal Investigators (national Young 1000-Talent and CAS 100-Talent Programs) Candidates should hold MD or PhD degrees with outstanding accomplishments in internationally renowned research organizations. Candidates should also have a good publication record in high-level peer-reviewed journals in the fields of immunology, microbiology, virology, viral pathogenesis, anti-viral vaccine and drug discovery.
