Our very own Hein Min Tun coordinated a private donation of COVID-19 testing reagents and consumables to Myanmar National Health Laboratory (NHL) with the help of the Myanmar Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau.
Thanks to the help of Dr Tun and Prof Leo Poon, School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong, NHL will benefit from getting primers, probes and positive controls as well as other technical supports.
The Myanmar National Health Laboratory is the only national lab testing for COVID-19 right now in Myanmar. The laboratory is a privileged partner of Institut Pasteur (IP) in the National Health Laboratory Project, allowing Myanmar to diagnose and monitor infectious diseases and epidemics. IP and NHL started their partnership in 2014 with projects, like ECOMORE, addressing infectious diseases and encephalitis.
