Building Partnerships in Laos: HKU Pasteur’s New Nutrition–Microbiome Project and Field Work in Phou Khao Khouai

Co-Director Eric Deharo travelled to Vientiane to establish the foundations of a new collaborative project to be led by HKU Pasteur’s You Che, focusing on nutritional interventions and microbiome dynamics. During the visit he met with local partners from the Faculty of Pharmacy (Vientiane), the Pierre Fabre Foundation, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), and the Institut Pasteur du Laos to discuss project design and partnership roles.

An opportunity to conduct a field visit to Phou Khao Khouai National Park, a study site, in collaboration with Euang Phet. Eric Deharo also held discussions with Toxo on ectoparasites in wildlife and with the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOHFI) to explore experience exchange and cooperation in health-sector activities in Laos.
