The Health Economics and Qualitative Research Training Workshop, organized by the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU), the MORU Tropical Health Network, the Ethox Centre, HITAP’s International Unit, and funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund, will be held from May 13th to 17th, 2019, in two sections at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Section 1: Health Economics (May 13-15th)
This section will give provide an in-depth introduction to the field of health economics with a focus on conducting studies in low- and middle-income countries. Specific topics that will be covered include: costing studies, effectiveness measures, cost-effectiveness analysis and good practice in conducting future studies. The course is targeted to a public health audience. The section is organized by Dr Hugo Turner.
Section 2: Qualitative Research (May 15-17th) This section will provide in-depth sessions detailing several qualitative data collection methods and their application, as well as a session on the ethical challenges associated with conducting qualitative research. This section is targeted to researchers and students who already have a basic understanding of qualitative research. The section is organized by Dr Jennifer Ilo Van Nuil.
