Once again the International Workshop was a success!
From December 4 to December 7, HKU-Pasteur organized the Health Economics International Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in collaboration with The Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City. On Monday, the opening ceremony took place at the historical Residence of France to start this hectic week with the Consul General greetings.
All along an inspiring week, thanks to our prestigious speakers, 27 participants were provided with basic theory of health economics, including socio-economic concepts, methods to define measure and analyze costs of health policies, as well as comparative analysis of health systems. Through this workshop subjects like the scarcity of resources, and how to allocate them, the different types of health evaluations or the internationalization of issues were raised by the lecturers.
To conclude this marvelous week, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City have invited all the students for a symposium on the Role of Biomedical Research and Education in the Global Health Agenda.
Special thanks to the French Consulate General for having us on the opening ceremony, to our colleagues from the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City for the great organization, and to our sponsors, the Pasteur Foundation Asia, Sanofi Pasteur, and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation Department.
We hope we will see you next year in Ho Chi Minh City for the next International Workshop!
In the meantime, stay tuned for our next courses in HKU-Pasteur Research Pole.
