Candidates must have a good knowledge of basic laboratory techniques at the Master level.
The course will be taught in English.
This is an intensive laboratory and lecture course devoted to new experimental techniques and current concepts in the study of cellular function. Topics include: functional organization of the cell, polarity and intracellular traffic communication and cellular signaling; cell migration and invasion; stem cells, apoptosis and autophagy; cell-pathogen interactions; cell cycle and mitosis.The practical course provides training in cell culture of transfected and infected cells, in vitro reconstitution of cellular functions, gene inactivation, and introduces students to cutting edge techniques of live imaging.
Full-time, except Saturdays, from January 10, to February 11, 2011 (examinations included)

The Institut Pasteur Diploma will be awarded to students having successfully completed the final examination.
This course is run in agreement with the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and Paris Diderot-Paris 7 and a University Diploma may also be granted.
Credits for Masters (second year) from Universités René Descartes, Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris Diderot-Paris 7 and Orsay-Paris11, for students registered at this universities (masters), Doctoral School Modules.
