International Workshop “Epidemiological Methods for Health Research”,

17-21 September 2012, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam


On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to solicit applications for the International Workshop on “Epidemiological Methods for Health Research” co-organized by the Regional Emerging Diseases Intervention (REDI) Centre-Singapore, Institut Pasteur of Ho Chi Minh City, HKU-Pasteur Research Centre and Institut Pasteur International Network.

This workshop will be held in the Training Centre of the Institut Pasteur-Ho Chi Minh City on 17-21 September 2012.

It aims at providing a broad basis of the practical knowledge for design, implementation, and reporting clinical research of infectious disease in a local setting to health personnel from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, PR China, Vietnam and other countries in South East Asia involved in surveillance activities and outbreak investigation.

Candidates should download the application form and follow the specified guidelines. Please return the completed form, including:

  • a covering letter explaining the reasons for participating in the course;

  • a detailed CV;

  • a recommendation letter to hku-pasteur@hku.hk before July 20, 2012.

All applications received before July 20, 2012 will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and selected candidates will be notified at the beginning of August. We will send all the selected trainees an invitation letter together with details on travel arrangements.

There are no registration fees and support for travel and accommodation will be provided to participants.
