Nutriom-Lao Training Strengthens Research Skills in Laos

A two-day Nutriom-Lao training programme was held on 21–22 October 2026 in Vientiane, bringing together Faculty of Pharmacy staff and research collaborators for practical training in data collection and laboratory methods.
The first day, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, focused on questionnaires, the Kobo Toolbox digital data-collection platform by Thipphaphone Xayavong and Marco Haenssgen, and anthropometric measurements by Jacques Berger.
On the second day, participants met at the Center of Infectiology Lao-Christophe Mérieux (CILM) for training in biological sample collection and processing for microbiota and immunology studies by HKU-Pasteur's You Che.
The programme is supported by the Fondation Pierre Fabre, the University of Hong Kong, and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.
