Welcoming Stephanie Tam to the team!
We are delighted to welcome Stephanie Tam to HKU-Pasteur, where she has joined Dr. Hogan Wai as a Student Research Assistant.

Stephanie is currently a fourth-year Nursing student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her academic background is rooted in clinical nursing and community health, and she has developed a strong interest in health promotion, disease prevention, and improving health outcomes through research and evidence-based practice.
Motivated by a desire to better understand how scientific research informs healthcare, Stephanie was drawn to the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole as an opportunity to explore the research process behind the scenes. She was particularly interested in learning how laboratory findings and scientific evidence can ultimately contribute to patient care, public health initiatives, and health policy development.
At HKU-Pasteur, Stephanie is working under the supervision of Dr. Hogan Wai on projects focusing on climate change and public health. While this area differs from her previous clinical and community health training, she is excited by the opportunity to broaden her perspective and contribute to research addressing emerging global health challenges. Through this experience, she hopes to acquire new research skills and gain a deeper understanding of how evidence can be used to support public health decision-making.
Looking ahead, Stephanie aspires to make a meaningful impact on population health. She sees her time at HKU-Pasteur as a valuable opportunity to strengthen her research capabilities, approach public health issues from new angles, and further appreciate the role that science plays in shaping policy and practice.
We warmly welcome Stephanie to the HKU-Pasteur community and look forward to her contributions to the team!
