The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.
It is the fruit of a long-standing partnership of more than 20 years between the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) and the Institut Pasteur, Paris, two major international leaders combining their expertise to establish this centre of excellence.
Building on the individual strengths of HKUMed and the Institut Pasteur, the C2i aims to characterise immune responses to infectious agents and their components in a healthy Asian population and develop new vaccine platforms for influenza, new strategies for mosquito-borne viruses and new treatments for lethal respiratory virus infections.
Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: C2i023P1)
Applications are now invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II (Ref.: C2i023P1), to commence as soon as possible, on a one year contract basis, with the possibility of renewalsubject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines, and relevant research experience in one or more of these areas: Virology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and strong communication skills, and also be self-motivated, organized, detail-minded, hardworking and able to conduct independent and collaborative research, and work well in an interdisciplinary team.
The appointees are expected to contribute to translational research projects in Immunology and Infection that will investigate the boundaries of functional immune responses to infectious agents for biomarker discoveries (https://www.c2i.hk/research-project-1). Working off-campus may be required. Work outside office hours and on weekends may also be required occasionally.
