Kimberly Edwards Receives Best Poster Award at World One Health Congress

We are delighted to congratulate Kimberly Edwards, Project Manager in Vijay Dhanasekaran's laboratory, on receiving the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 9th World One Health Congress in Lisbon, Portugal.
The congress brought together more than 1,300 experts from 107 countries and featured nearly 600 scientific posters, highlighting the latest advances in One Health research.
Kimberly received the award for her investigation into the resurgence of zoonotic avian influenza H5N1 viruses in Cambodia. This study highlights the coordinated One Health response and underscores the persistent threat of avian influenza to public health, poultry production, and wildlife conservation.
This research contributes to ongoing efforts to strengthen surveillance and understanding of emerging infectious diseases at the human-animal interface, a central pillar of the One Health approach.
