The Consulate general of France in Hong Kong and Macau is launching

The “France-Hong Kong Month of Environment”, 20 September-20 October 2016



During the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21), for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, 196 countries joined forces to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C. To keep this momentum going, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau is launching the first edition of the France - Hong Kong Month of Environment.


From Sept. 20th to Oct. 20th, 4 weeks will be dedicated to the exploration of 4 natural elements (#earth, #wind, #fire, #water). The Month of Environment will be the opportunity for each of us to open our eyes to a new eco-conscious mindset and be welcomed into a world of new lifestyle alternatives, through debates and conferences, workshops, film screenings, and concerts!

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS Opening event (24-25/09) CyberPort - “Dock to the Environment World”: environmental market with climate change exhibitions and open-air movie screening, in the presence of Mrs Christine LOH, Under Secretary for the Environment, and Mrs Lilas BERNHEIM, Deputy Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau

#EARTHWEEK (26/09) HKU - Opening of the exhibition “Climate Change, 360°”

#WINDWEEK (12/10) Comix Home Base - Premiere Screening of the wonderful animated film “Yellowbird”

#FIREWEEK (03/10) T-Park - Seminar “Climate Architecture” with screening of the film “Climate Architecture” and a guided tour of T-Park

#WATERWEEK (17/10) HKU - Seminar “Marine & Water Environmental Conservation”

CLOSING EVENT (20/10) - “Tips for Trash”, an eco-friendly evening with speakers, live music and poetry to exchange around the reduction of trash in our everyday life
